Health campaigner Kathryn Colas is inviting Sussex women to a workshop about living and loving well beyond the age of 40.

Kathryn, a menopause mentor from Nutley, is one of the speakers along with menopause, HRT and heart specialist Dr John Stevenson, nutritional therapist Laura de la Harpe, sexual and relationship therapist Victoria Lehmann, and surgical consultant (breast care) Jo Marsden.

This is the first workshop of its kind to be held south of London and Kathryn says the advice on offer will be second to none. It represents a huge stride forward in informing women of issues that can affect their well-being as they get older.

The programme adviser for the evening workshop is Dr Thikra Bashir, consultant gynaecologist at Haywards Heath hospital. The event will take place at Clair Hall, Haywards Heath on Tuesday, April 1. There will be a buffet reception at 5.45pm with the workshop and open forum running from 6.30 to 8.45pm. To register visit: www.womens-health-concern.org/workshop.

Earlier that day medical professionals will take part in a Menopause Masterclass where information will be shared by experts in the field. Kathryn is a member of the Medical Advisory Committee of the British Menopause Society and the only lay person to sit alongside experts in the medical profession. She has battled for the past seven years to lift taboos over the discussion of the menopause and its symptoms and set up the business Simply Hormones to share information with women and to show business leaders how they could improve productivity by taking account of the effects of the menopause on their workforce.

Kathryn said: “It is a great privilege to be in a position through the Medical Advisory Committee to influence the way the NHS deals with women seeking help as they progress through the menopause.”
