Here’s an idea of what you can expect if you decide to attend the wrestling night in Peacehaven.
Tickets are almost sold out but there is still a chance to bag a seat at the high octane event taking place on Saturday, March 1.
And it’s all for a good cause – raising money for the mayor of Peacehaven’s Local Project Fund.
Brighton wrestling star Barry Cooper will be bidding for glory as he goes head to head with South Coast rival Andy Simmonz.
The match also features ladies wrestling for the first time.
Brighton taxi driver Cooper will challenge Simmonz for the Premier Wrestling Federation welterweight belt he held for a record-breaking five years between 2008 and 2013.
Cooper first won the title when he beat Lee Darren at the Brighton Centre, but his reign was ended by Simmonz last April when the two men clashed at Worthing Assembly Hall.
Simmonz had previously beaten Cooper in a non-title bout, and the Brighton star admitted if he lost again then he may not get another chance to regain the championship.
Girl grapplers Erin Angel, a former Young Wrestler of the Year, who is known as wrestling’s Little Miss Dynamite, and Ireland’s Rhia O’Reilly are set to clash in the other top of the bill match.
Erin wrestled in Canada last year for former WWE star Rene Dupree’s Atlantic Grand Prix promotion.
They were due to meet at last October’s aborted show when the Meridian Centre was evacuated because of a fire alert.
Premier Promotions have worked hard to bring the wrestlers together again and not disappoint the Peacehaven fans after the last night was sadly cut short.
The show will also include one of the biggest men in British wrestling - the 6ft8 James Kenna, power-packed teenage star Josh Faulkner and Sussex tag team stars Charlie Checkmate and Carl Brady, who were a big hit when they made a guest appearance at the Meridian Christmas fair.
Tickets for the show are nearly sold out but are still available from the Information Office at the Meridian Centre, priced £10 for adults and £9 for concessions.
A family ticket for two adults and two children costs £36. Telephone enquiries 01273 575125.
