A public meeting - one of three around the county - on plans for future maternity, paediatric and emergency gynaecology services in East Sussex will be held on Tuesday, March 12 from 7-8.30pm in the Weald Hall, Uckfield Civic Centre under the auspices of Healthwatch.
The three East Sussex Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have put in place the Better Beginnings public consultation programme on future options for maternity, in-patient paediatric and emergency gynaecology services in the county, http://www.betterbeginnings-nhs.net/.
The CCGs - headed by a trio of GPs including Buxted GP Dr Elizabeth Gill - say the meeting aims to ensure people have a means to question and engage with decision making.
Their statement says: “The six options for the future of these services are the only ones we believe can ensure the high quality care for local people that we expect as GPs. We want as many people as possible to find out more about what we are proposing, ask us questions and tell us what they think. As well as our programme of consultation events, the sessions provide valuable opportunities for us to talk to local people about the future of these vital services.” If you would like to go register at: http://tinyurl.com/o8ot6gy or ring: 0333 101 4007
