Horam Post Office is set to move. The current Post Office at 1 Bank Buildings, High Street, is set to become a ‘local’ Post Office service at the News and Food convenience store next door at 2 Bank Buildings.
The current Post Office will close on Tuesday September 2 at 5.30pm. A Post Office spokesman said during a short period of closure before the new branch opens, an alternative service exists at Heathfield Post Office.
Horam Post Office services will be provided at a combination counter in the store where the Post Office terminal will be alongside the till. Opening times will be from Monday to Saturday, 6am-5.30pm and 6am-1pm on Sunday, opening significantly earlier each day.
Will Russell, regional manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
“We are confident this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the community will be popular. Modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme that enables us to continue investing in the network and map out a bold growth strategy to the end of the decade.”
