South Heighton man to direct horror movie, after surviving assault

A TALENTED director from South Heighton who suffered horrific injuries following an assault is directing a Polish horror movie.

Shaun Troke, who was attacked in June 2009 in First Avenue and woke up in hospital three days later, was left with a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain and permanently deaf in one ear with tinnitus.

This year, Shaun applied for a part in Polish movie Sparrow, produced by 26-year-old Wojciech Stuchlik.

The producer offered Shaun the director's role and he now has complete credit control. Shaun and Wojciech cast the film from young English actors in early March.
