A team from the Prince’s Trust Course at Sussex Downs College in Newhaven were raising money for the Newhaven Food Bank this week.

The students cycled the distance from Lands End to Edinburgh during a sponsored static bike ride at Platinum Gym in Newhaven, completing 605 miles in 12 hours over the course of two days last week.

And they were running a superhero car wash at Sussex Downs College on Denton Island in Newhaven on Thursday February 27.

They were also planning to sell cakes at a bake sale in the town centre on the Tuesday February 26.

The fundraising is part of the team’s community project which they complete as part of their course.

Student Matt Soper said: “As a team we decided to support the food bank in Newhaven because they help out the people of Newhaven and the surrounding area.

“We will be working alongside the food bank to collect all food donations and to give parcels to those who need them most.

“The team appreciate any donations that have been given to help the food bank in raising money to provide families with food.”

The team members are Josh Skeels, Aaron Balba, Ryan Terry, Matt Soper, Jordan Stebbings, Jordan Davis, Summer Craven, Bethanie Dunton, Mikey Thompson and Hailey Power.
