Crowds basked in the sunshine at this year’s Music in the Park held in Willingdon on Sunday (June 8).
People were entertained by Con Brio, Howlin Blues and the Kingfisher Scout Band at the event in Huggetts Lane Recreation Ground.
A spokeswoman for Willingdon and Jevington Parish Council, which held the event, said: “The weather for a change was wonderful and many people enjoyed the day.
“The 1st Willingdon Scouts were also helping with the parking and cooking burgers. The ice-cream van did a brisk business on such a hot day.
“For the second year running there was a dog show organised by Angela Lucas, who runs Angela canine Academy.
“This attracted a wide range of pooches, big and small, pure bred and Heinz, all well behaved and beautifully groomed.
“The dogs and their owners enjoyed their moment of glory when rosettes were presented.”
The event also boasted a fairground, a bouncy castle, face painting for the children and stalls selling a variety of goods.
The event was sponsored by the Willingdon Residents Association, Day Lewis Pharmacy, Red Roses Gardeners, Peter Shoesmith and Co Limited and Wilmoths.
The charities benefitting this year were Chestnut Tree House and Guide Dogs for the Blind.
