Teachers strike: List of school closures in East Sussex

A number of schools across East Sussex will be closed or partly closed tomorrow (Wednesday March 26) when teachers take industrial action.

The National Union of Teachers (NUT) will stage an one-day strike over pay and conditions.

Several schools are affected including schools in Newhaven, Seaford, Hailsham, Uckfield. and Lewes.

Confirmed partly closed tomorrow:

Claverham Community College, Battle partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

Due to Industrial action the College will be closed to Year 10 pupils on 26/3/14. The College is open as usual for all other year groups. Claverham Day Nursery and our Community Education will operate as normal.

Harbour Primary & Nursery School, Newhaven partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

The school will be open for the following year groups; Nursery, Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, Year 4, Year 6. Our school will be closed for Reception and Year 5 only due to industial action.

Ratton School Academy Trust, Eastbourne partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

Open to Year 11 students only

Robertsbridge Community College partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

The College will be open to Year 11 students only. The College buses will run as normal and a canteen service will be available on this date.

Salehurst Church of England Primary School, Robertsbridge partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

All classes closed except Y6 who will be out on a school trip to Drusillas.

The Eastbourne Academy partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

Closed to Years 7, 8 and 9 due to industrial action. Years 10/11 to attend as normal.

The Hastings Academy partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

Due to industrial action on Wednesday 26th March 2014, The Hastings Academy will be open to students in Years 10 and 11 only and will be closed to students in Years 7, 8 and 9. The Academy will open again as normal to all students on Thursday 27th March 2014.

The Haven Voluntary Aided C E Methodist Primary School, Eastbourne partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

School is closed to the following classes: Ruby L, Emerald C & W, Amber N The school is open to pupils in Ruby N, Sapphire RE & SF, Amber S, Amethyst, Pearl & Diamond.

The St Leonards Academy, St Leonards-on-sea partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

The St Leonards Academy will be open for Year 10 and 11 students only

Uckfield Community Technology College partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

The College will be open as normal for Sixth Formers but closed for Years 7 to 11. Students in Years 7 to 11 should use Moodle to identify work that they can continue with.

Uplands Community College, Wadhurst partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

Partial closure due to NUT industrial action. College only open to students in Year 11-13.

White House Primary School, Hailsham partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

Turtle Class -open until 1.15pm closed for the afternoon session.

Seahorse Class- closed in the morning but open from 1pm for the afternoon session.

Dolphin Class- closed all day.

Sea Star, Axoray and Chromodoris classes open as ususal.

Willingdon Community School, Eastbourne partly closed, Industrial action: Wednesday 26 March 2014

Partial closure of the School due to NUT industrial action by teaching staff. School will be open to students in Year 11 only.

Burwash Church Of England Primary School closed.

Chantry Community Primary School, Bexhill-on-Sea closed.

Chiddingly Primary School closed.

College Central, Eastbourne closed.

Cradle Hill Community Primary School, Seaford closed.

Crowhurst Church of England Primary School closed.

Ditchling (St Margaret’s) Church of England Primary School closed.

Firle Church of England Primary School, Lewes closed.

Hamsey Community Primary School, Lewes closed. All teachers striking

Hawkes Farm Primary School, Hailsham closed.

Hellingly Community Primary School closed.

Langney Primary School closed.

Meridian Primary School, Peacehaven closed.

Northiam Church of England Primary School closed.

Peacehaven Heights Primary School closed. The Infant site will be open for Nursery and Reception children only, the junior site will be completely closed.

Priory School, Lewes closed.Due to strike action from members of the NUT Priory School is closed to students on Wednesday March 26. The school apologises for the inconvenience this may cause. School will be open as usual on Thursday 27 March.

Rodmell Church of England Primary School, Lewes closed.

Seaford Primary School closed.

Shinewater Primary School, Eastbourne closed.

St Mary Magdalene Catholic Primary School, Bexhill-On-Sea closed.

St Paul’s Church Of England Primary School, St Leonards-on-Sea closed.

The South Downs Community Special School, Eastbourne closed. The East Site will be completely closed. The West Site will be partially closed.

Wallands Community Primary School, Lewes closed. Closed to pupils. Open to staff who are not striking.

West St Leonards Primary Academy, St Leonards-on-sea closed. The academy will be open on Thursday March 27 as usual.

Western Road Community Primary School, Lewes closed.
