Improvements which will be made to the post office in Telscombe Cliffs were welcomed by MP Simon Kirby.
The area manager wrote to the MP explaining that the post office in Central Avenue will be closing on April 15 to be converted into a new main Post Office.
A new car tax payment service will be introduced and there will be longer opening hours when it reopens on April 29.
Simon said: “Telscombe Cliffs Post Office is an important hub of the community, providing valuable services for local people.
“The Post Office staff are always friendly and helpful and I believe the new improvements will be a great benefit to local residents. I am sure the longer opening hours will also be welcomed by customers.”
Sub-postmaster and store owner, Bill Phagura added: “Customers will also be pleased to know that we are taking this opportunity to upgrade and modernise the convenience store. There will be a new layout which will increase floor space. This will allow us to introduce a new increased range including more fresh foods.”
