A three-year-old Yorkshire Terrier has scooped the prize for the photo competition held by Demelza Hospice Care for Children this week.

‘Lily’ will feature on the charity’s flyers for their forthcoming Pooches on the Prom event, which is taking place at Helen Gardens in Eastbourne on Sunday, September 28.

The tiny terrier will start off the three-mile sponsored walk to the pier and back and will be guest of honour at the event. She will also take part in the fun dog show that’s taking place after the walk.

Her owner, Claire, was overjoyed to hear that Lily had won the competition and is already making preparations to ensure that her perfect pooch is pampered ahead of the day.

The event will kick off with registration at 11am with the walk beginning at midday. Entrants will get a free spotty bandanna and Andrex puppy if you pay in advance for the walk. Entries for the dog show will be accepted on the day at £2 per dog, per class. The dog show will take place once everyone is back from the walk at approximately 1.30pm.
