A block of council-owned toilets in the Old Town is set to go under the hammer next month with a guide price of £10-15,000.
Hastings Borough Council has decided to sell off the western block of public conveniences in Rock-a-Nore Road.
The block is on one of the busiest tourist areas in the town.
It is being auctioned by Clive Emson Auctioneers at the The Hilton Metropole in Brighton on September 22.
According to the Clive Emson auction handbook: ‘The building is considered to have a multitude of possible uses, to cater for both the tourist market and local residents.’
Tracy Hobden, spokeswoman for Hastings Borough Council, said: “There are two toilet blocks.
“To save costs it was decided to retain and refurbish the eastern block (unisex cubicles, baby changing and accessible WC) and dispose of the western block. The block is being sold as is and it is up to the purchaser if they want to apply for planning to change the use post sale.”
