Heathfield Parish Council has a new chairman and vice chairman.
Cllr Patrick Coffey was elected chairman at Tuesday night’s AGM while outgoing chair, Cllr Pat Clark, becomes vice chair. Three new members also made their appearances: Richard Ridley (well known for his involvement in Le Marche) and Cllr Penny Kift who has served extensively on other councils. Both were elected earlier in the year. Cllr Andy Woolley was also voted in to serve.
Among topics discussed was a Business Development Committee aimed at finding potential opportunities for investment so consequent profits could help reduce the parish precept.
Cllr Clark said: “One idea put forward was the purchase of a couple of affordable homes for rental with the council taking the income.
“Another was a launderette, possibly equipped with machines that take horse blankets.”
