Eastbourne cyclist Robert Grew arrived back in the UK to a warm welcome at Gatwick airport after breaking the Guinness World Record for cycling 3,605 miles across Europe completely solo and unsupported.

The 25-year-old completed the journey from Nordkapp, Norway – the most northerly point of mainland Europe – to Tarifa, Spain – the most southerly point of mainland Europe - in 39 days, six hours, 51 minutes and 59 seconds, breaking the previous record by just a few hours. Robert took on the challenge to raise money for St Wilfrid’s Hospice and the Tuesday O’Hara Fund. To find out how to donate, visit his Facebook page at www.facebook.com/theextramilecycle.
