A wrestling match attracted sell out crowds at Peacehaven Meridian Centre on Saturday March 1, raising more than £1,000 for the mayor of Peacehaven’s Local Project Fund.
The show featured “Little Miss Dynamite” Erin Angel versus Ireland’s challenger Rhia O’Reilly.
It was meant to take place in October 2013 but was abandoned when a fire in another part of the complex forced the hall to be evacuated.
Organiser Deborah Donovan from Peacehaven Town Council said: “A fantastic sell out audience of 200 people attended the event which raised £1,051, with the support of sponsors are Clean Clearance and Madison Solutions, for the Mayor of Peacehaven’s local community project fund.
“Local residents and those who came from as far as Reading were completely in awe with the whole programme, the wrestlers entertained the crowd with a spectacular show.”
Deborah added that interest was already being shown in the repeat performance planned for October this year.
Local groups and organisations can apply for money from the mayor’s Local Project Fund up until the end of March.
Application forms can be collected from Deborah at the town council, which has offices based at the Meridian Centre in Greenwich Way.
The event was organised by Premier Promotions.
