HUMAN bones were discovered on Seaford Beach by a member of the public who was clearing litter.
Sussex Police said the bones were found at Splash Point shortly before 10.30am on Thursday December 29.
Police attended the scene and the specialist search unit was called in on Thursday and Friday to locate any further remains, but nothing was found.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
It has been passed to the coroner’s officer to investigate, identify the remains and establish the circumstances of the person’s death.
The remains are of the upper part of the body including the skull, which are awaiting forensic investigation.
Initial indications are that the body had been in the water for some considerable time.
