Man arrested after medical centre damaged in Hailsham

Police in Hailsham have arrested a man after a wall was damaged at the Medical Centre in the town.

Officers on foot patrol in Hailsham town centre discovered that a wall at the side of the Medical Centre had been damaged just after 10.30pm on Friday (March 6), police said.

A piece of the wall had been dislodged and was on the ground, police said.

Police said a 19-year-old man has been arrested.

He was released on bail until Wednesday (March 25) while police make further enquiries.

Sergeant Mark Ritchie, from the Hailsham Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Crimes like this have a negative effect on communities, making residents and business owners feel unsafe.”
