Man sought over alleged assault and abduction in Peacehaven

Police are searching for 30-year-old Mark Anthony Packham, who they wish to interview about an incident in Peacehaven in which a woman was allegedly assaulted and another woman allegedly abducted for short period.

Shortly before 6am on Saturday (May 16) Packham entered the address of a 34-year-old woman known to him in Cinque Foil, Peacehaven. During an altercation she was struck on the head although she did not sustain any injury.

Packham then left the address with a 20-year-old woman who had also been present, and allegedly forced her on to a passing bus in adjacent South Coast Road which travelled short distance towards Brighton before she got off. She was unhurt.

Packham is described as white, 6’4” and of stocky build. His last known address was in Storrington Close, Hove.

Detective Constable Julia Cocklin said, “If know where he is, please contact us via 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 259 of 16/5. If you see him, please dial 999 at once. You can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111.”
