WEALDEN police are gearing up extra patrols after Horam residents told them groups of youths and children are being dropped off in the village by their parents or by taxis.
Commander Chief Inspector Richard Coates said: “They seem to be congregating in Horam for some reason. We’ve had a few calls from concerned residents so we have stepped up patrols to make sure nothing untoward is going on and to find out why Horam is so popular at the moment.
“There’s not that much for them to do there, I think.”
He went on: “I have now met members of Horam Parish Council and people living in the community and we have agreed a way forward.”
