Police appeal for Crowborough good Samaritan

Police are appealing for the good Samaritan who stopped to help a woman who had been assaulted in Crowborough last Wednesday night August 28) to come forward.

The passer-by stopped when the woman flagged him down at White Hill Road at around 11.30pm.

The man who stopped is described as driving a dark coloured car, possibly an estate, and was wearing a white shirt. He, or anyone else who witnessed the assault, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting serial 1829 of 28/8.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of ABH and criminal damage. He has been bailed until September 13 while investigations continue. The man and victim are known to each other.
