Police are urging residents to be on their guard after a report of prowlers in Raymond Close, Seaford.

Just after midnight on Saturday (August 3) the resident of a bungalow in the road heard voices and the sound of a window being tampered with.

Sergeant Stuart Mullins said: “This may just have been children messing around but it shows the danger of leaving windows open during the hot weather.

“It is advisable never to leave downstairs windows open unless they can be locked in place to not fully extend, especially overnight.”

If you see someone behaving suspiciously around a home dial 999.
