Sex attacker jailed for seven years

A man has been jailed for seven years after being found guilty of sex attacks on two women.

A police spokesman said Richard Payne, 50, of South Coast Road, Peacehaven, was sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on Tuesday (May 17).

Payne will be a registered sex offender for life after he was found guilty of two counts of sexual assault against a woman in Hassocks, and one of sexual assault against another woman in Burgess Hill.

Detective Constable Nathalie Bundy of the West Sussex Safeguarding Investigations Unit said; “This was a complex investigation and both victims gave evidence in court.”
