Police are seeking a man who stole valuable jewellery from an elderly Peacehaven resident on Friday (January 31).

Between 1.40pm and 1.45pm, the man called at a bungalow in Firle Avenue and asked the 87-year-old woman living there if she had any valuable items for sale.

As he was doing so he looked around the property and when he left the woman realised a gold necklace and four rings, valued together at several thousand pounds, had been taken.

The man is described as white, in his 40s, about 5ft 9in and smartly dressed in a grey suit. He had short dark, smart, greying hair.
