Police divers working near the Phoenix Causeway bridge in Lewes today (Monday July 15)have recovered some items believed to have been stolen in a burglary at Hamsey, near Lewes, on Friday.
The burglary was discovered at 3.24pm on Friday when the householder returned home after being out for about two hours and found their home had been broken into. Cash, computer equipment, jewellery and medals were taken in the raid.
About 10 minutes later, a car was stopped at a service station in Malling Street, Lewes, and two men and a boy were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A 23-year-old man from Uckfield, a 22-year-old man from Maresfield and a 16-year-old boy from Hailsham were questioned and later released on bail until August 22.
Sussex Police launched Operation Magpie last month to tackle burglary across the county.
