Police are appealing for witnesses after a 25-year-old man was struck by a trailer in Uckfield.

The man and his friend were crossing the High Street between Costa Coffee and Natwest bank at around 10.20am on Sunday, February 26.

While crossing, the 25-year-old collided with a rear trailer being towed by a van, police said.

As a result he was knocked to the floor and sustained a fractured kneecap and torn ligaments.

Police said it is thought that the driver may have been unaware that they had collided with the man.

Police are appealing for information on the driver of the van shown in the CCTV image to come forward and help them with their enquiries.

Officers are also keen to speak to anyone else who was in the area at the time and may have seen what happened.

Anyone with information is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 453 of 26/02.
