Craig Jones, head of forensics and cyber crime at the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit, is a speaker at the next Wealden Business Breakfast, 6.45-9.30am, on Tuesday, February 3 at Buxted Park Hotel. He will talk about how cyber crime is being tackled in the South East.
The breakfast focuses on cyber security and how home grown businesses can avoid the havoc that hackers can cause. With cyber security breaches now costing UK plcs billions of pounds each year, speakers at the breakfast will provide advice on how small businesses can protect themselves.
There has recently been a particularly sharp rise in cyber attacks made against small businesses and 40 per cent of them report having been victims. Research by the Federation of Small Businesses found that, where there is no protection in place, a cyber attack costs an average of £4,000.
