Staff from The Military Preparation College will be taking part in a 100-mile a day cycle ride from Battle to Arnhem in the Netherlands on Friday (September 12).
The event, called Battle to Battle (B2B), is in memory of the five students who have been killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan, and will be raising funds for the Motivation and Learning Trust (MLT).
The MLT was set up at the beginning of this year with its mission to help the young people associated with The Military Preparation College in the form of additional support. This ranges from uniform, emergency aid, tablet technology to educational visits.
Paul Boundy, area manager, said: “Most of the staff have never ridden a road bike before committing to this event, so taking on this challenge was certainly a little daunting for them.
“However, after training hard over the last six months through the wind and rain they are ready to take on this challenge. Each staff member taking part has been given a target to raise £2,500.”
