JUDGING for the annual Willingdon and Jevington In Bloom competition proved difficult due to the high standards of entries.

A presentation evening attended by villagers was held at Trinity Church Hall on Thursday last week, September 13. Photos of the gardens entered were shown via a PowerPoint presentation and there was a new category this year – the Commemorative Garden to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

2012 winners: Front Gardens: Richard Stapp; Window Boxes and Hanging Baskets: Karen Walker; Cottage Garden: Pam Hollingsworth; Unusual/Novelty Garden: Colin Ticehurst; Commemorative Garden: Gillian Eames; and Educational and Environmental: Willingdon Pre-School.
