A woman who held a dog show in memory of her sister who died of cancer has handed over a cheque for £1,000 to charity.
Geraldine Fribbens, from Buxted, organised the Companion Dog Show in Horam because she wanted to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Care.
Geraldine’s sister lost her battle with cancer last year.
This week Geraldine met with Ann Press, Chairman of Uckfield Macmillan Cancer Support Committee, and handed over the cheque.
Ann said: “The money is to go towards the building of the Macmillan information and support centre in Brighton, which will be available for all cancer patients in the Uckfield area.”
The dog show was held at Horam Village Hall on June 8.
Speaking last week, Geraldine said: “There were lots of lovely dogs and worthy winners.
“It was a hot but windy day and everybody seemed to be enjoying the show.”
Geraldine said she wanted to thank everyone who attended the event and the businesses which offered donations.
