THE FISH Festival will light up Newhaven on Saturday June 11 in a celebration of the town’s fishing industry.
This year visitors can look forward to displays of locally caught fish, fish cookery demonstrations and the Dieppe Market.
Parents can watch their kids in the children’s procession and there will be entertainment for youngsters too, such as Brillo the Clown.
They can also enjoy children’s magic show, fairground rides and arts and crafts activities, as well as live music, art displays and community group stalls.
The Fish Festival is in its eighth year and is organised by Newhaven Community Development Association (NCDA).
NCDA event organiser Sally Foote said: “I would like to encourage everyone to come along and enjoy a fun filled day in Newhaven. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors Veolia and Newhaven Town Council for making the whole thing possible.”
It is the town’s largest community event.
The event will starts at 9am and finishes at 3.30pm. Admission is free.
