Police believe that a driver who caused a motorcyclist to fall from his bike near Hailsham may not have realised that they had collided with the bike.
The rider of the motorbike, a 19-year-old man from Eastbourne, was treated for minor injuries at Eastbourne District General Hospital following the collision on the A22, 200 yards north of the A295 at 2.35pm on Wednesday, November 21.
PC Andy Smith from the Sussex Police Road Policing Unit said: “The motorcyclist was in the outside lane when the other vehicle, possibly a dark-coloured Ford Galaxy, moved from the inside lane and side-swiped the bike, causing the rider to fall off. Fortunately, he was only slightly injured and we believe that it’s quite possible that the driver of the car just didn’t realise that a collision had taken place.
“If you are the other driver or you saw the incident take place, please contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 906 of 21/11.”
