IT WILL be non stop music when the Engineer Music Festival takes place on Saturday September 17 in Newhaven. Six bands will play in the grounds of the Engineer Public House, in Railway Road, Newhaven, from 2pm until 11pm in aid of the Searchlight home for the Disabled.
Bands performing will include Welcome to Nutsville, Kangaroo Juice, Stash, DC & the Topcats, Random and The Caution.
Landlord of the Engineer Bob Daniels said: “It should be a great day and special thanks should go to the bands for volunteering their services for charity.
“We are having an early start to allow families to attend and their will be a bouncy castle, kid’s games, a raffle, tombola and a barbecue.”
Searchlight is currently trying to raise more than £300,000 to refurbish Powell House in Claremont Road.
Searchlight trustee Graham Amy added: “We are very grateful to Mr Daniels, the staff of the Engineer, and the bands for giving up their time for our charity.
“With good weather we estimate anything up to 500 people visiting the event at some time during the day.
“We are hoping for a large turnout because any money raised will be doubled by Basepoint, the parent company of the Enterprise Centre on Denton Island, Newhaven.”
Tickets for the festival cost £3 payable at the door and children under 14 go free but must be accompanied by an adult.
Searchlight is based in Mountpleasant and offers residential, day and respite care for adults with physical and learning disabilities.
