Paramedics have treated an elderly woman for severe injuries at the scene of a crash in Willingdon this afternoon (October 19).

Paramedics and emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 3pm when the woman crashed her Corsa into a building on Huggetts Lane.

The air ambulance attended the scene of the accident near the junction of the Seven Sisters Road roundabout.

The road has been closed in both directions to keep the area clear for emergency services.

Neighbour Clare Birch was among one of the first people at the scene crash. She said, “The emergency services got here very quickly – it must have been in under 10 minutes.”

The air ambulance left the scene at around 4.30pm.
