ENERGY and climate change minister Greg Barker (MP for Bexhill and Battle) visited Telscombe Civic Centre on Monday May 9.
He met Telscombe town councillors to discuss the recent retrofitting of the Civic Centrewhich made it more energy efficient.
Mr Barker’s visit came at the invitation of Simon Kirby, MP for Brighton Kemptown. He also visited Brighton University.
Mr Kirby said: “I am delighted that the Minster of State visited on Monday so that he could see the great progress that is being made locally to build on the vision of the environmentally sustainable United Kingdom.
“Brighton and the surrounding area is a national leader in embracing new technologies based on sound science to create practical applications to improve people’s lives in an environmentally friendly way.
“The visit to Telscombe Civic Centre will highlight the practical implications of solar technology and other initiatives the town council is pursuing.”
