A free seminar will offer advice on dementia and dementia care for people living in the Hailsham and Eastbourne area.
The event will help people wanting to know more about dementia and dementia care to learn about the disease.
The speaker for the event is due to be James Wilson, an expert in the field and a lecturer in mental health at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Southampton University.
The event is being organised by Bowes House care home which is due to open in Hailsham, on June 3.
It will be held at the Wellshurst Golf and Country Club, North Street, Hellingly, on Saturday, May 11, from 11am until 12.30pm.
Bowes House manager Alison Barnes said James would share his knowledge and give information and guidance which would be particularly helpful for those caring for a loved one with dementia.
She added: “The seminar will appeal to many more people, from health care professionals to those who would simply like to know more about the condition, its different forms, how to recognise it, and how to live with it, or help others live with it.
“A lot of fear and misconceptions surround dementia but many worries can be allayed through learning more about the condition.
“This seminar is being run by an expert in the field who keeps up with the latest advances in treatment of dementia – the best possible person to learn from.”
Bowes House is a Care UK home which will offer the highest quality residential, nursing, dementia and respite care.
