Families charity is looking for volunteers in the area

A charity that helps families in 1066 Country is looking for volunteers.

Home-Start, based in St Leonards, has volunteers, who are parents themselves, who support struggling families.

Judy Breen, senior co-ordinator for Home-Start East Sussex, said: “Our success lies in the way they match the needs of families with the skills and experiences of local people who have been parents themselves; those who are able to provide the means of assisting with the stresses and strains of bringing up children, the constraints of smaller budgets, juggling life priorities and changing roles.

“If you are looking for work and suddenly find time on your hands or have recently retired, why not use your own parenting experience to help others? You will be able to assist families with the challenging demands of small children, social isolation through lifestyle changes, adult and child disability and young parenting. You will almost certainly bring your own experiences and skills to Home-Start’s existing volunteer base. We ask for no qualifications, just your own experiences.”

Anyone interessted can call Alex on 01273 612025.
