A cricket club where Sussex players began their education in the sport is relaunching a youth side to ensure its long term future.
Firle Cricket Club said the Firle Falcons were due to have their first session this week on Thursday May 7, run alongside Sussex CC coaches.
The village club has a long history, dating back to 1758, but in recent times its numbers have dwindled and it said without a youth policy no club could survive.
It is the club where current Sussex players Matthew Hobden and Callum Jackson started their cricketing education.
Firle are looking to offer cricket to boys and girls aged five to 11.
The evening runs from 5pm until 6.30pm and is due to run until the end of the summer. There will be a free barbecue for all the children that attend.
