An art gallery in Hailsham is turning 10 years old.
Gallery North is to celebrate its 10th anniversary in November and to mark the occasion some of the original artists from 2004, who displayed their work when the gallery opened at the old school North Street (now Prezzos), will display their current work.
They include Ben Ecclestone, Nicola King, Viv Cecil, Jenny Johnstone, Sue Ramsay Smith, Ruth Bodkin and Maureen Brown.
Birthday celebrations will take place during November and there will be a special open morning on December 6 to coincide with the town’s Christmas celebrations.
There will be a 10th anniversary party and cake sale on November 22 from 10.30am.
A Winter Sculpture exhibition will be running at the gallery from November 4 until December 20. Renowned sculptor Carol Sinclair, whose work has been shown in galleries throughout the UK, is exhibiting her intricate copper and wood sculptures alongside International abstract artist Cassiel Sinclair. The exhibition also includes wire sculptures, textiles, ceramics, paintings and photography with a large variety of art prints and cards.
Jenny West, gallery director, said: “This is one of the most varied exhibitions we have had, the sculpture is very exciting and it’s lovely to have some of the original artists showing. The fact that this is our 10th year in Hailsham makes it very special.”
