Five tons of hay alight in Berwick barn fire

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a barn fire in Berwick on Saturday evening (December 12).

Two appliances from Eastbourne and Seaford were mobilised to the incident on Station Road at 6pm.

On arrival, it was confirmed that one barn and approximately five tons of hay were alight. Crews used foam and a water shuttle to extinguish the fire.

Crews then spent time turning over and damping down.

Firefighters left the scene at 9pm.
