FORMER EastEnders and ITV copper Todd Carty will be starring in this year's festive panto at The Capitol in Horsham.

The well-known tale of Dick Whittington will hit the stage on December 13 and will run until January 6.

Todd Carty, best known for playing Mark Fowler in Eastenders, is playing bad guy King Rat.

The actor said: "I love doing pantomimes and seeing the children's reactions.

"My family and kids will be coming down to watch it as well."

As King Rat, Todd, 44, will have to sport a rather large leather costume.

Todd, who also played Gabriel Kent on ITV's The Bill, starred in another production which took place at The Capitol, in North Street.

The play, entitled Business Is Murder, is based on Richard Harris' psychological thriller, and thrilled audiences last Friday and Saturday (October 5/6).

Also starring in the pantomime is Laura Evans, known to many as Madison from the popular kids TV programme, The Basil Brush Show.
