Free entry to historical buildings as part of Heritage Open Days in East Sussex

An event where unusual and interesting buildings are open to the public for free around will be staged next weekend.

Heritage Open Days will be held around East Sussex from September 12-15.

In Seahaven the 14th century dovecote will be open at West Dean on Saturday September 14 and Sunday September 15.

It forms part of the medieval settlement of West Dean House, pulled down in 1825 except for parts of the east and south walls and part of a Jacobean Banqueting House.

The 14th century Wealden hall house Alfriston Clergy House will also be taking part.

The thatched, timber framed house will open on Saturday September 14.

Newhaven Museum will open from September 12-15 too.

Numerous buildings are open across East Sussex as part of Heritage Open Days.
