Wealden District Council is hosting a free, fact-packed Information Day for older members of the community at St John’s Church Hall, Polegate.
More than 30 stands will be staffed by businesses, voluntary and statutory organisations providing information about services in Polegate and the south of Wealden.
There is a chance to learn about benefits and pensions support, how to seek legal advice, local food deliveries and ways of keeping active and healthy on April 30 from 10am to 1pm.
Living on a pension during a period of high inflation is not easy – so it pays to be aware of all the offers, support and advice out there for people in their 60s and older.
Sophie Hepworth, Community and Regeneration Officer at Wealden District Council said: “The Wealden population is seeing an increasing proportion of older people – and this is set to continue.
It is important people have the opportunity to find out more about maintaining independence and leading full lives as they grow older.”
As with last year, when over 100 people attended, there will be music sessions, featuring local musicians playing guitar and hammer dulcimer and a free raffle. Waitrose supermarket is once again kindly donating free tea and cakes.
