Young people in Hailsham enjoyed a wide range of fun activities this summer thanks to the Square Youth Café.
The Square Youth Café, a youth facility in Market Square, put on a line-up of free and low cost events designed to liven up the summer holidays and encourage young people through the doors of the cafe. Events included raft-building, abseiling and zip wire at PGL Windmill Hill, ten-pin bowling at Freedom Leisure Centre, snowboarding at Knockhatch Ski Centre and games at Hailsham Recreation Ground. Young people also embarked on a trip to Hailsham’s twin town in France, Gournayen-Bray, for its annual St Clair Festival, as well as organised outings to Thorpe Park and Brighton and Hove Albion’s Amex Stadium in Falmer. Additional activities for young people have been planned for later this year. For details visit squareyouthcafe.com and hailsham4youth.org
