A FUNERAL home has donated high visibility badges to a Denton school to help children stay safe at night.

The Co-operative funeralcare in Newhaven has teamed up with national road safety charity, Brake, to encourage schools to help make children aware about road safety, in particular, when British Summer Time finishes at the end of October.

The company donated 150 high visibility reflective badges to pupils at Denton Community Primary School in Acacia Road.

Funeral director Justin Harvey and funeral arranger Alison Campbell handed the badges over on Wednesday October 19.

Funeral director Justin Harvey said: “We are helping to raise awareness of the importance of being visible on the road during dark nights.

“With the clocks about to go back, darker mornings and evenings mean that children need to take extra care on their journeys to and from school.”
