Gallery North in Hailsham High Street is continuing its community outreach projects with the new term of the Hailsham Art Group starting on August 24 and a Costume and Umbrella Parade on September 7.

The Hailsham Art Group, open to all ages and abilities, was launched in September 2012 and meets in the gallery on Monday afternoons and Tuesday evenings with tutor, Josie Tipler guiding the class in a variety of painting and drawing mediums. More information and details of how to book your place at the art group are on the website http://www.hailshamartgroup.blogspot.com/

The Costume and Umbrella parade is part of the opening celebrations for this year’s Hailsham Festival of Arts and Culture. Everyone is invited to come along and join the free parade on September 7, which starts in Vicarage Field. Bring your own umbrella or parasol which you can either decorate artistically at home or come along to the free decorating workshop on August 31.

There is a Jungle book theme but any costume or decoration is welcome.

Full details of the parade and all other festival events at http://www.hailshamartsfestival.co.uk/ and in the printed festival programme which will be available from many outlets including Gallery North from August 10.
