Garden safety advice: police

Have your say

HERE is some advice from Hailsham Police on garden security following recent ‘numerous’ shed break-ins.

Police say that residents should mark garden tools and equipment with their own postcode (police are able to do this for free).

Also: gates, fences and walls should be kept in good repair to stop intruders getting in.

Police also suggest growingprickly plants near vulnerable areas such as windows, fences, boundary walks and drainpipes;.

Lastly do not leave expensive garden equipment such as tools, mowers, mountain bikes, and power tools in the shed. If you have no where else to store equipment, take steps to secure the shed.
