GARDENERS, lovers of great design and healthy living gurus can combine their passions at a country house garden show at one of the most famous country houses in Sussex this weekend, April 24-25.
Firle Place, home of the Gage family, stages its spring garden show which is timed to perfectly to coincide with the season to start plotting, planning and planting the garden.
Less outdoorsy relatives and friends can enjoy shopping amongst a variety of memorabilia and country food shops or even learn to relax with the help of healthy living therapists.
It also offers visitors the chance to visit Firle’s 20-acre Pleasure Grounds, an 18th century woodland garden and head gardener Philip Fenech will take three daily tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm around the beautiful garden in its lost valley. The show is open from 10am-5pm. Entry £5, (seniors £3, children £1 and under fours, free.)
There are refreshments and plenty of entertainment for children.
