GCSEs: Lewes Old Grammar School celebrates 93 per cent achieving A* to C grades

Pupils from Lewes Old Grammar School are celebrating after achieving a 93 per cent pass rate in A* to C grades.

Headteacher of Lewes Old Grammar School, Robert Blewitt, said: “The pass rate A* to C at GCSE was good at 93 per cent, matching our results from previous years.

“However, the A* and A figure was a little down on the results achieved under the modular system, but still pleasing at 40 per cent.

“We remain concerned by the marking of certain units, which appear inconsistent with other papers taken by the same candidates.

“This is being investigated through the remarking process and we hope that these anomalies will benefit the pupils who may have currently been disadvantaged.”
