SEAFORD Twinning Association welcomed visitors from the German towns of Bonningstedt and Crivitz.
They attended the mayor’s reception at 37 Church Street hosted by the Mayor of Seaford Cllr Linda Wallraven, Seaford Town Council, and Seaford Twinning Association.
Amongst the guests on Friday May 27 were twinning association chair Mark Brown, Bonningstedt Burgermeister Peter Liske, Heike Bergmann, representing the mayor of Crivitz, and Martina Kaddatz, a Bonningstedt councillor.
The Archway gave a reception and held a joint sing-in for the visiting Bonningstedt Pop-Chor.
On Saturday May 28 the visitors toured Seaford Martello Tower Museum.
There was also a brass and voices concert at Seaford Head Hall.
Finally Sunday provided three of the four planned events, as the weather was cold and blustery, including communion at St Leonard’s Church where the Pop Choir performed.
Next was the Seaford History Walk where, braving the wind, two groups toured sites of historic interest with Seaford historian and author Kevin Gordon and town crier Peter White.
The planned open air concert at the Martello Tower on Sunday, with the same performers as the Saturday Concert, had to be cancelled due to the bad weather.
And on Sunday guests enjoyed a mystery tour by coach around various Sussex landmarks.
The choir made up for the disappointment of Sunday’s cancelled concert by singing on the seafronts in both Eastbourne and Seaford.
Some members of the STA will be visiting both Bonningstedt and Crivitz in just six weeks, when they travel there with Seaford Silver Band for a weekend of concerts. To join the group call 01323 896315, or visit STA’s website.
