Jim and Cath Holter celebrating their golden wedding anniversary at Michelham Priory

A WILLINGDON couple returned to Michelham Priory - their wedding reception venue - for a golden wedding anniversary photo shoot.

Jim and Cath Holter held their reception at the Upper Dicker house on March 17 1962.

They both have strong connections with the historic site, growing up in Upper Dicker, and Jim having worked there as an electrician several times.

They were married in Upper Dicker church, and held their reception in the apartment of one of the residents of Michelham Priory whom Cath’s mother was working for at the time.

The couple remember the day as being bitterly cold, and were pleased that the weather was much more pleasant this week when they returned for celebration photos.

Michelham Priory is now available for weddings and civil ceremonies throughout the year and the Elizabethan Great Barn and private adjoining Moat Terrace Lawn are the centre of wedding reception services.
