HAILSHAM residents are invited to test their wits in an evening of friendly competition by taking part in a charity quiz night in support of the Hailsham Lions’ Club and Hailsham In Bloom.
The event takes place at 7.15pm in the Charles Hunt Centre, Vicarage Field on July 30.
Questions rounds will include pot luck and a picture round, and there will be a prize raffle draw. Any contributions towards auction prizes would be appreciated.
Entry is a £5 donation per person. There is no minimum number that can make up a team but the maximum number of people is eight. Entrants will need to bring their own food and drink.
Proceeds from the quiz entry fee and money raised from the raffle draw will be split between the Hailsham Lions’ Club and Hailsham In Bloom.
Both the Mayor, Cllr Jeff Bentley-Astor, and his Deputy, Cllr Richard Grocock, will be hosting the quiz.
Cllr Grocock said: “Following on from the success of our previous Charity Quiz Night held in March – which raised £400 for both causes – we are determined to raise as much money as possible again this time round. Not only will participating quiz teams be raising funds for these fantastic causes, but have a good laugh at the same time.
“Any help will be very much appreciated and I hope as many residents and businesses as possible are able to get a team together and come along on the night.”
Teams should register by phoning 01323 841702 (office hours) or 01323 842911 (evenings), stating their team name and team details. There is a limited capacity so places will be reserved on a first come first served basis. The last date to guarantee team entries is July 28. Any unsold entry tickets will be sold at the door on the night.
